Coffee Shop

Slowing down. ‘Counteracting the day-to-day frenzy and inspiring you to escape it’ is more than a motto, it is a manifesto, word that also names the recently opened space in Mercado de Matosinhos. Ambassador of creativity and slow reading, Manifesto drew inspiration from the Japanese culture and has brought the specialty drip coffee stand concept to Porto. This is great news for all the coffee lovers out there, that now have the luxury of choosing the origin of their coffee grains, how their coffee will be brewed (V6, Chemex ou Aeropress) and taking their time to enjoy it. Should they feel peckish, there’s cookies and slices of cake to go with their quality coffee, along with over 200 independent magazines, among which you will find Gerador, Kinfolk, Drift, Sidetracked, Offscreen, ArtReview, Aesthetica and Monocle.

The floor below hosts a documental photography gallery, where new talents are showcased side by side with renowned National Geographic, Estação Imagem and World Press Photo photographers. Promoted by the adventure travel agency Nomad (also the patron of the space), the project took over ten years to perfect and come to life. The potential of Porto’s creative community and the enthusiasm and dynamics the city is experiencing have made this the ideal time, and have worked as fertile ground to making it happen. A slow movement subscriber, Manifesto is the perfect spot to soak in both inspiration and motivation, be it over study sessions, during work days or when you just want to relax .
