Shoes and Accessories Designer

João Pedro Filipe is the name behind the brand senhorPRUDÊNCIO, the renowned brand of footwear and accessories for men. This fashion designer grew up among shoe molds and leather, as his grandfather, José Prudêncio - which he honored by naming his brand after him - was a shoemaker and much of his family worked in both this field and leatherworking. His future, brimming with visions of leather, was almost pre-defined and he decided to follow his grandfather’s footsteps in this creative field at 16. With a degree in Fashion Design, João Pedro complemented his training at the Institut Français de la Mode (IFM) in Paris. Among other milestones, his career was defined by internships under Felipe Oliveira Baptista, Louis Vuitton and Lacoste, and for winning the 'Young Creative Fashion Entrepreneur' award in fashion (bestowed by Guimarães 2012 European Capital of Culture and by the British Council).

Porto is not his hometown, but it has become his home, since João believes he would not be able to grow as a designer in a different city. The proximity to the industry and materials for his brand and for others with which he collaborates are key factors for his success. He also believes that Porto is increasingly a source of inspiration for creative work, combined with an excellent lifestyle.
