He’s always doodled. On all of his notebooks, perhaps even on the walls at home.  To an extent that his path could not have led anywhere else but to the Faculty of Fine Arts in Porto. Only then, however, did he acknowledge that his doodles were more than just that. As a student at Communication and Multimedia Design - and later on as a Masters student - he found out that illustration was his thing. And he’s been on roll ever since.

Today, besides teaching at the same faculty where he studied, he is also an artist, illustrator and co-founder of the first illustration and drawing gallery in Porto – Dama Aflita. His aesthetics has already gained recognition in the illustration area and Júlio shows his work regularly, in both individual and collective exhibits. He also works ‘on demand’, and has done so for several editorials and for brands such as Sisley and La Redoute. Always dynamic, he longs for the times when he is able to create, pushing limits and boundaries. His name will, no doubt, become bigger and bigger. Any time now.
