Shop Window Designer

The daughter of a trader and a housewife who loved the arts, Regina Pinheiro was always encouraged to pursue a career in the arts world. Her passion for window dressing arose still in her childhood, a fruit of the many long walks along Santa Catarina Street.  Always curious and mindful of window shops, their organisation and originality, Regina was quick to learn that ‘a window shop is the best shop assistant ever, as it works 24-7’. It comes as no surprise that her first incursions as a window dresser took place when she was only 17 when she first started working with her father in the iconic Casa dos Forros. Little by little, the dull and listless windows of the haberdashery came to life and developed a flippant, colourful new personality – they are still, to the date, her business card.

No routines and no discipline, Regina Pinheiro’s time is split between a very busy agenda and her updating research work. Jewellery, footwear, eyewear, perfumery and stationery are some of the areas of expertise in her already long career. With a degree in Painting from the Fine Arts Faculty and a Masters student in Contemporary Artistic Practices, the plastic artist has more than 30 years of professional experience under her belt. Having worked as a store manager, a textile designer, an accessories designer and a consultant and teacher in several schools, in 2009 she took on the challenge of creating her own project. She founded Regina Pinheiro Studio, where she collaborates with a multidisciplinary team that aims at ‘bringing signature projects to life and propelling shops to a different level of prestige and results’.
