jewellery designer

When she designed her first piece – a necklace with 16 porcelain Teddies - Ana João  was far from imagining that she would become a professional jewellery designer. It was the unexpected strong take-up that motivated her to pursue this path. Today, her irreverent, colourful Sweet Monsters, Teddies and Peacocks are in the spotlight because of their theatrical, contemporary and disruptive character. And they have earned her talent recognition at Portuguese Jewellery Newborn.

With a degree in Product Design, Ana João’s initial step was to work in lighting. When the time came to make a move in the jewellery area, the designer strengthened her technical knowledge with several modular trainings at Cindor. After her internship at Alcino Silversmith she was ready to launch her own brand. Ana João Jewelry has its designer’s imaginary as a prime source of inspiration.  Mixing exuberant colours and unlikely materials, the characters the designer creates translate the creative spirit of portuguese jewellery reborn to perfection.
